I spent Christmas and new-year's in Singapore and Thailand for 2004-2005. Yes, I was in Thailand when the tsunami hit, but I was in Pattaya at the time (about 500km north/nor-east of Phuket). Even when disaster had struck, The Thai people still had an energy and a feel about them that proves to me they are the friendliest people in the world ANYWHERE! Australia may be the lucky country, but Thailand definitely wins the title of The friendly country! This was my second trip to Thailand, and undoubtedly not my last. |
